Island Kitchen Porter - Full Time

Native –  New Opening Osea Island, Essex –  Island Porter with a passion for nature and the outdoors!

 

Native are set to establish a new fine dining restaurant on the magical Osea Island off of the coast of Essex. Located 1 hour from London It will provide customers an immersive dining experience dedicated to seasonal, British, Game, rare breed and foraged produced whilst ensuring our customers receive a unique culinary adventure around Osea.

 

Positions available:

  • Island Kitchen Porter

 

With you key duties being:

  • Running a smooth, efficient service by ensuring there is always clean equipment available.

  • Maintaining exceptional kitchen hygiene standards that are met at all times and the space remains clean and tidy.

  • Helping chefs with food preparation.

  • Helping to maintain the Island’s kitchen garden, growing and harvesting the produce.

  • Help the chefs with daily foraging and gathering tasks on the island.

  • Ensure that fires are lit for service and there are sufficient amounts of firewood

 

The ideal candidate will:

  • Enjoy a challenge and be able to think outside the box

  • Good sense of humour

  • Up to date food hygiene standards

  • Self motivated and puts pride into their own work.

  • Able to cope well under pressure in a high volume environment

  • Be a good communicator with all members of the Native team.

  • Cleanliness and Appearance are very important

 

Great emphasis will be placed on the training and development of our staff along with the restaurant allowing staff to progress and be involved in the growth of the establishment.

 

Moderate English, both written and spoken is essential.

 

In this demanding but both enjoyable and personally satisfying role staff will receive:

PLEASE NOTE: THIS IS A TIDAL ISLAND AND SO YOU WILL ONLY BE ABLE TO LEAVE DURING CERTAIN HOURS OF THE DAY. STAFF FOOD AT ACCOMMODATION IS PROVIDED, IT IS RECOMMENDED THAT EMPLOYEES STAY ON THE ISLAND DURING THE WORKING WEEK.
