    May Foraging: Common Vetch

Common Vetch: a native plant that is a member of the pea family 🌱 its tendrils curl around nearby plants, making it quite easily identified. It’s popping up on a few Native dishes at the moment and adds a fresh, sweet pea flavour to salads if you are lucky enough to find them out and about! #foraging #wild #food #cooking #chef #wildfood #vetch #vegetarian #outside

Found on verges, lawns and meadows it has a sweet flavour with a slight bitterness - you'll find it popping up on our menu at the moment! Historically it was used as a charm against bad luck and as a healing herb. We just use it because its tasty! #foraging #wild #cooking #education #cookery #chef #ingredients #yarrow #forage #plants

We would go on adventures armed with watercolours and soup in a flask to find new flowers to

    Sloe Berry Meringue Pie Recipe

You will be truly amazed at the vast amount of wild food available in South East London, whether that be the more common, apples, blackberries and rose hips or for the keener eyes, figs, sorrel and damsons – keep your eyes peeled but do remember to keep a reference point to hand, there are plenty websites to help with identification, or we particularly like the River Cottage handbooks. We are excited about raising the profile of game, foraged and seasonal foods by bringing it
